What can fail
The engine control module relay in the power distribution module can allow silicon vapor to form. Over time, silicon coating erodes from the relay's noise-reduction diode, causing silicon oxide buildup on relay contacts through electrical arcing.
What the fix does
Dealers will replace the engine control module relay inside the power distribution module at no charge.
