The 1993 Nissan Quest has 8 recalls, the most serious being multiple fire risks: debris entering the HVAC system can ignite inside the blower housing, and fuel hoses with damaged walls can leak fuel near ignition sources.
The fuel system concerns extend further: cracks can develop in the fuel tank vent hose, and if the tank is overfilled and then heats up significantly, fuel can expand into the cracked hose and leak. On the brake side, the master cylinder may not have been properly assembled, which can cause internal leakage and loss of braking on two of the four wheels, reducing stopping ability when you need it most. There is also a seat belt concern: one or both bolts securing the automatic seat belt track to the door pillar may not have been tightened adequately, which can weaken the track's attachment and reduce how well the belt holds an occupant in a collision or sudden stop.
