The 2020 Nissan Sentra has 9 recalls, the most serious being a tie rod defect where one or both front tie rods can bend or break, causing partial or complete loss of steering control.
On the drivetrain side, vehicles equipped with a manual transmission have a recall for a gear selector cable that can come loose, leaving the driver unable to shift or causing an unintended gear change that produces sudden, unexpected vehicle movement. Two visibility-related issues affect certain trims: on models with LED headlamps, the right headlight can be misaligned from the factory, reducing how far the driver can see at night. There is also a rearview camera concern where damage to the camera wiring harness can distort or blank the backup camera image, reducing the driver's view behind the vehicle.
