The 2010 Nissan Xterra has 3 recalls, the most serious involving steering shaft bracket fasteners that can loosen over time and eventually fall out completely, potentially causing a loss of steering control.
Two recalls involve the airbags. The driver's airbag cover carries a resin emblem that can crack and break free during deployment, sending a fragment into the cabin and raising the risk of injury to occupants. A separate issue affects the front passenger airbag on vehicles built within a narrow window in early 2010, where the bag may not deploy in the intended direction during a crash.
