The 2024 RAM 1500 has 5 recalls, the most serious involving the driver's airbag and stability control: the airbag may not deploy in a crash, and a software fault in the anti-lock brake module can disable electronic stability control, reducing the truck's ability to recover from a skid.
The airbag concern covers two separate issues: the clockspring, which connects the airbag circuit through the steering column, may fail to deploy the bag in a crash, and separately, the driver's side airbag connector may not be properly seated, also preventing deployment. On the visibility side, a fault in the central vision processing module can cause the rearview camera to go blank while backing up, leaving the driver without a view of what is behind the vehicle. There is also a minor electrical issue where the turn signal may not self-cancel after a lane change or turn, which can leave the signal blinking longer than intended and confuse other drivers about the vehicle's direction.
