The 2000 Saturn LW has 3 recalls, the most serious involving a fuel tank valve that can stick open after a frontal collision, allowing fuel to spill if the vehicle rolls over and creating a fire risk if an ignition source is nearby. The restraint system recall covers rear seatbelt buckles that may not hold under the forces of a crash, raising the risk of injury to rear seat occupants if the buckle releases. On the electrical side, the plastic housing around the rear tail lamp assembly can warp if the brake lights stay on for an extended period, causing brake lights or tail lights to cut out intermittently or fail altogether, including the center high-mounted brake light.
