The 2015 Subaru Forester has 3 recalls, the most serious being a faulty passenger seat sensor that can deactivate the front passenger airbag even when someone is sitting in the seat, raising the risk of injury in a crash. This issue affects vehicles with heated seats, where an electrical connection in the front passenger seat can loosen and cause the airbag system to incorrectly read the seat as empty. On the mechanical side, some turbocharged models have an air intake duct that can crack, causing rough idling, reduced engine power, or a stall.
