SUBARU SOLTERRA Recalls

The Subaru Solterra has 4 recalls, all affecting 2023 model year vehicles, with the most serious being improperly tightened hub bolts that can loosen and allow a wheel to detach while driving, creating a loss of control and crash risk. Two software-related issues also affect 2023 models. The HVAC system can enter a failsafe mode that disables or degrades the windshield defroster, reducing forward visibility in conditions where defrosting is needed. The rearview camera, on vehicles equipped with the panoramic view monitor system, can freeze or fail to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse, limiting the driver's view behind the vehicle while backing up. There is also a VIN labeling error on certain 2023 vehicles where the make cannot be confirmed from the VIN alone, though this does not affect how the vehicle operates.
