The 2010 Subaru Tribeca has 10 recalls, the most serious being a defective passenger-side frontal airbag inflator that can explode and send metal fragments into the cabin, posing a serious injury or death risk to occupants.
Multiple recalls address this same airbag inflator issue across different filing phases, including a separate campaign covering vehicles registered in high-humidity states and territories where the risk is elevated. On the door latch side, the front door latch cables can catch on the window regulator when a window is raised or lowered, causing the door to fly open while driving and raising the risk of ejection or a crash. The hood latch system also has an open recall: both the primary and secondary hood latch mechanisms can fail together, allowing the hood to swing up while the vehicle is moving and blocking the driver's view of the road.
