The 2012 Subaru Tribeca has 5 recalls, the most serious involving the passenger-side front airbag inflator, which can explode and send metal fragments into the cabin, potentially injuring the passenger, driver, or other occupants.
The airbag inflator issue appears across multiple filings, some of which specifically cover vehicles registered in high-humidity states and territories where the risk is elevated, while others apply more broadly. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the issue for all affected vehicles. There is also a recall for the hood latch system, where a failure in either the primary latch or the safety catch can allow the hood to fly open while driving and block the driver's view of the road.
