2020 TOYOTA HIGHLANDER HYBRID Recalls — Canada & USA

The 2020 Toyota Highlander Hybrid has two recalls of equal severity: one where the electronic stability control system can remain off after restarting the engine, and one where front bumper components can detach while driving. If a driver manually disables stability control and then restarts the engine while holding the brake pedal, the system may fail to reactivate, leaving the vehicle without the traction and skid correction it normally provides. On the structural side, the front lower bumper cover on certain vehicles may not be properly secured, meaning a minor front impact can cause the lower bumper cover, engine under cover, and fender liners to break free and fall onto the road, creating a hazard for other drivers.
