8 recalls across 4 model years
The Triumph Bonneville T120 has 8 recalls spanning 2016 through 2024, with the most serious being an alternator wiring defect on 2022-2024 models where the wiring between the alternator and main harness connector can short circuit, overheat, and start a fire. An earlier repair attempt for this wiring issue on some 2022 models did not fully resolve the problem, and a second repair may be required for those motorcycles.
The 2023 model year has a separate brake concern: the left-front brake disc can loosen and detach from the wheel, reducing braking performance and extending stopping distances. A pulsing front brake lever while braking can be an early sign of this condition.
The 2016 model year has three recalls. The fuel pump mounting plate wiring seal can degrade and allow fuel to leak from the tank, travel along the wiring harness, and cause an electrical short that can lead to a fire. On 2016 models equipped with heated grips, the throttle grip can expand when the grips are on and close the gap needed for the throttle return spring to function, making it difficult to reduce speed. There is also a notice affecting certain aftermarket front brake levers on 2016 models, where the lever blade at some adjustment positions contacts the handlebar grip and limits full brake application.
