The 2003 Victory Vegas has 3 recalls, all involving the fuel system, with the most serious being a fuel tank vent tube joint that can develop a leak and ignite if a spark or flame is nearby.
The vent tube joint sits at the bottom right of the fuel tank, and the surrounding material can fatigue over time and allow fuel to seep out. A separate but related issue involves the vent line inside the tank itself becoming blocked, which can build up pressure and cause fuel to spray out when the cap is opened. Both problems trace back to the fuel tank's venting design, and prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the underlying issue, which is why multiple recalls address the same area of the motorcycle.
