VOLKSWAGEN CC Recalls

The Volkswagen CC has 4 recalls spanning the 2009–2017 production run, with the most serious affecting 2015 models where a faulty airbag control unit capacitor can cause airbags and seatbelt pretensioners to fire without a crash, or fail to deploy when a crash actually occurs. On 2016–2017 models, the final production years, incorrectly installed front head restraints may not adequately support an occupant's head in a crash, raising the risk of neck and head injury. Going back to 2009, certain vehicles have a right front passenger seatbelt buckle wiring harness that was routed incorrectly and can be damaged when the seat moves, preventing the front passenger airbag from deploying in a crash. The 2012 model year has a compliance issue where accessory wheels installed at the port were not fitted with the proper tire pressure monitoring sensors, causing the system to display a constant warning rather than accurately signaling when a tire is actually low.
