The 2021 Volkswagen Jetta has 4 recalls, the most serious involving an airbag control module welded in the wrong position, which can cause airbags to deploy incorrectly in a crash and raise the risk of injury.
A second recall covers front seat track bolts that may be missing entirely, allowing the seat to slide freely forward or backward during a crash instead of staying in position. On the visibility side, two recalls address the rearview camera: one where a fault in the infotainment system's memory can prevent the camera image from appearing at all when reversing, and another where the camera can go to a black screen or freeze up mid-drive. Both leave the driver without a rear view while backing up. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the camera issue, which is why it appears across more than one recall.
