The 2011 Volvo S60 has 5 recalls, the most serious involving front seatbelts that may not properly restrain occupants in a crash, and door latches that can break and allow a door to swing open while driving.
Both of these issues raise direct injury risk: the seatbelt concern affects the front occupants' ability to be held in place during a collision, while the latch defect can leave a door appearing closed when it is not fully secured. On the engine side, two recalls address the same underlying problem: certain S60s with a 5-cylinder engine lack a functioning oil pressure warning, so the driver receives no alert when oil pressure drops and may keep driving until the engine stalls. There is also a minor label issue on vehicles where a dealer-installed spare tire kit was added after the factory build; the tire and loading information label still shows "none" for the spare tire, meaning the inflation pressure guidance on the label does not match the actual spare on the vehicle.
