The 2024 Volvo VAH has 4 recalls, the most serious involving steering gear fasteners that may not be properly tightened, which can cause loss of vehicle control and raise the risk of a crash.
The next most significant concern involves a control unit that processes commands for several safety systems. Electrical interference can cause this unit to malfunction or stop responding, leaving anti-lock brakes, traction control, electronic stability control, active cruise control, and collision mitigation without full or any functionality. There is also a seatbelt concern: the passenger seatbelt anchor sits in a floor area with insufficient reinforcement, meaning the anchor can pull free in a crash and fail to hold the occupant. On the visibility side, the windshield wiper motor gears can wear out prematurely, causing the wipers to stop working and reducing the driver's view in wet conditions.
