The 2022 Volvo VAH has 4 recalls, the most serious being an ECU software issue that can reduce or cut out key safety systems including anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, automatic traction control, and collision mitigation.
The passenger seat belt anchor is also a concern: the floor reinforcement beneath it may be inadequate, allowing the anchor to fail in a crash and leave the occupant without proper restraint. On the chassis side, a hubcap compression spring can push the hubcap off the wheel while driving, putting debris in the path of other vehicles. There is also a visibility issue where the windshield wiper motor gears can wear out prematurely and cause the wipers to stop working, reducing the driver's ability to see in wet conditions.
