The 2021 Volvo VAH has 7 recalls, the most serious involving the air brake system: a fitting in the pneumatic pass-through plate can release a brake line while under pressure, causing the park brakes to apply without warning, and a separate defect can cause the brake pedal to break free and become inoperable.
On the restraint side, the passenger-side seatbelt anchor may not be properly secured to the floor and can detach in a crash, leaving the occupant without effective restraint. Two recalls cover this same issue, and prior repair attempts did not fully resolve it.
The electronic control unit that manages traction control, anti-lock brakes, electronic stability control, active cruise control, and collision mitigation can misprocess commands or stop working due to electrical interference, reducing or eliminating those safety systems. Hubcaps on certain trucks can loosen or detach while driving, creating a hazard for other vehicles on the road, with two separate recalls describing this risk across slightly different root mechanisms.
