The 2018 Volvo XC90 has 3 recalls, the most serious involving second-row seatbelt buckle and lower anchor bolts that may not be properly tightened, which can allow the belt to fail to restrain an occupant in a crash. A software error in the vehicle's connectivity module can cause the telematics and driver assistance systems to malfunction, including a failure to transmit GPS location to emergency services after a crash. On the interior side, this recall only affects XC90 Excellence models: liquid or condensation on the rear seat control display can cause the front passenger seat to slide back as far as it will go, potentially trapping a rear passenger between the seat and the back cabin wall with no way to stop the movement.
