Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2014 Nissan Rogue vehicles manufactured January 2, 2014, to June 4, 2014. Improper nickel plating of components within the fuel pump may result in the fuel pump failing.
Safety Risk
If the fuel pump fails, the vehicle may stall without warning, increasing the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Nissan will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump, free of charge. The recall began on May 26, 2015. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.
On certain 318I, 318IC, 318IS, 325IC, 325IS, 325IX, 525I, 535I, 735I and 735IL vehicles, the fuel feed hose could harden and "set" over time due to engine compartment temperatures. If this "setting" occurs, it is possible that seepage between the hose and fitting could result because the clamp cannot provide sufficient sealing force to compensate for the hardening of the hose. Fuel seepage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in an engine compartment fire.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
fuel feed hoses and associated clamps will be replaced with ones of a new design.
On certain trucks, the fuel pump may develop a diesel fuel leak as a result of improper assembly process at the factory. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a vehicle fire, causing property damage, personal injury, or death.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will inspect and, if no seepage or leakage is detected, the fuel pipe fittings will be tightened to specifications. However, should seepage or leakage be discovered, the fuel supply pump would be replaced.
On certain motorcycles, the fuel filler cap seal could crack. As a result, fuel could leak.
Safety Risk
A fuel leak can create the risk of a fire.
Remedy
The company will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the fuel filler cap seal.
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. A FUEL FEED LINE CONNECTING THE FUEL FILTER TO THE ENGINE CAN PREMATURELY AGE AND SHRINK THROUGH EXPOSURE TO HIGH UNDER HOOD TEMPERATURE CAUSED BY THE TURBOCHARGER.
Safety Risk
THIS CAN RESULT IN FUEL SEEPAGE AT THE CONNECTION.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE ENTIRE FUEL FEED LINE FROM THE FUEL FILTER TO THE ENGINE WITH A FUEL LINE OF SHRINKAGE-PROOF MATERIAL.
On certain vehicles, a defect in the fuel low pressure line could result in a fuel smell and/or fuel leak. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire causing injury and/or property damage.
Safety Risk
No risk description available.
Remedy
Dealers will install an improved fuel low pressure fuel line.
