Defect
On certain motorcycles, the rear axle shaft could break. If this happens, there could be a loss of control.
Safety Risk
A loss of control could increase the risk of a crash.
Remedy
Ducati will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your motorcycle to a dealership to replace the rear axle shaft and bearings.
