26 recalls across 9 model years
The Bentley Bentayga has 26 recalls covering 2017 through 2026 model years, with the most serious being a high-voltage battery overheating risk on 2023 plug-in hybrid models that can produce smoke, melt surrounding components, and start a fire.
The 2023 plug-in hybrid models also have a related recall where the battery can overheat specifically during charging, again raising the risk of fire. On 2022-2023 five-seat models, second-row seats may not be fully locked onto their rails and can shift in a crash. The 2021 model year carries several issues: a rear axle trailing arm lock nut can fracture from stress corrosion and misalign the rear axle, causing loss of control; electronic stability control software on V8-equipped examples can cause the system to malfunction and fail to help the driver maintain control; second-row seats on some 2021 examples share the same unlocked rail problem as the 2022-2023 models; and the front passenger seatbelt retractor can deactivate too early, preventing a child seat from being properly secured. Rearview cameras on 2021-2022 vehicles can display a blank image when reverse is selected, removing the driver's view of what is behind the vehicle.
Going back to 2019-2020 models, fuel line quick connectors in the engine compartment can leak, creating a fire risk near hot engine components. The 2018-2020 models have side curtain airbags that may not fully inflate in a crash, and third-row seatbelt upper anchors that can pull free in a crash and leave rear occupants unrestrained. The 2018 model year has a rearview camera that can be obstructed or take more than two seconds to display when reversing.
On 2017-2023 models broadly, the fuel supply module wiring can overheat and melt the module flange, leaking fuel near potential ignition sources. The 2017 model year specifically has an additional fuel supply module connector issue with the same consequence, as well as seat mechanism and instrument panel joint fasteners that may not have been properly tightened during assembly, reducing crash protection. The 2018 model year has third-row seatbelt attachment bolts that may be too short and can pull free in a crash.
The most recent production years have label-related recalls: 2026 models, including certain Speed trim examples, carry an incorrect maximum cargo and vehicle capacity weight on the tire placard, which can lead to overloading and handling problems or tire failure. The 2025 model year has a tire information placard that may list the wrong tire size and pressure, which can result in an incorrectly sized or underinflated tire being fitted. The 2021-2022 owner's manual incorrectly describes airbag deployment behavior, which may cause occupants to position themselves unsafely relative to the airbags.
