The 2021 Bentley Bentayga has 9 recalls, the most serious being two structural and fuel system issues: a rear suspension lock nut that can break and misalign the rear axle, causing loss of control, and a fuel pump wiring fault that can melt the fuel module flange and leak fuel, raising the risk of fire. Several recalls concern occupant safety. The front passenger seatbelt retractor can deactivate too early, preventing a child seat from being secured properly in a crash. The second-row seats may not be fully locked onto their rails and can shift in a crash, raising the risk of injury to rear passengers. On V8 models, a software fault in the chassis control module can cause the electronic stability control system to stop working correctly in certain situations, reducing the vehicle's ability to prevent a skid or loss of control. A separate but related software issue affects the same stability control system across other configurations, with the same consequence. There is also a rearview camera recall: a software error can cause the camera display to go blank when the vehicle is shifted into reverse, leaving the driver without a view of what is behind the vehicle while backing up.
