The 2008 Buick Enclave has 3 recalls, the most serious being a driver's airbag inflator that can explode during deployment and send metal fragments into the cabin, posing a risk of serious injury or death to the driver and passengers.
Two other recalls affect occupant protection and the rear of the vehicle. The side-mounted airbags and seatbelt pretensioners for the driver and front passenger can fail to activate in a crash due to increased electrical resistance in their wiring harnesses, leaving occupants without the side-impact protection the system is designed to provide. Separately, the rear liftgate can drop unexpectedly while open, striking anyone standing behind the vehicle.
