What can fail
When the battery is low and fuel collects in the intake manifold during engine start, the manifold can over-pressurize repeatedly. This causes a loud backfire that may rupture the manifold, creating dust from under the hood and preventing the engine from starting. A fire could occur if an ignition source is present.
What the fix does
The dealer will replace the fuel pressure regulator to prevent fuel from accumulating in the intake manifold.
