Summary
The 1995 Buick Regal has 5 recalls, the most serious involving the driver's airbag, which can deploy unexpectedly at startup, while parked, or while driving, posing a serious injury risk to anyone near it.
The corrosion occurs inside the airbag inflator's wiring over time, triggering unintended inflation. On the restraint side, the center rear seatbelt anchor plate can develop stress cracks and fracture in a crash, leaving that seat's occupant without effective belt protection. There is also a steering concern: the bolts securing the steering column support bracket may not have been tightened to the correct specification, allowing them to vibrate loose over time. In a frontal collision, a loose or missing bolt could cause the steering column to shift and increase the risk of injury to the driver. Two recalls cover the same lighting issue, affecting coupe models specifically: the front park and turn signal bulbs lack sufficient brightness to be reliably seen under all conditions.
