The 2011 Cadillac SRX has 7 recalls, the most serious involving a transmission shift cable that can slip out of its bracket, leaving the driver unable to shift gears or causing the shifter to falsely show the vehicle is in park when it is not, creating a rollaway risk.
Two rear suspension recalls address the same underlying problem: a toe link adjuster that may not be properly tightened can work loose and separate, causing sudden loss of vehicle control. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the issue, which is why two separate campaigns exist for this defect.
On the occupant safety side, the front seatbelt buckle anchors can fracture and pull away from the seat attachment in a crash, leaving the belt unable to hold the occupant. There is also an airbag concern: the passenger sensing system can incorrectly determine that the right front seat is empty and shut off the right-side roof-rail airbag, leaving a rear passenger on that side without airbag protection in certain crashes.
