2019 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 Recalls — Canada & USA

The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 has 5 recalls, the most serious being a risk that hot gas from a deploying seatbelt pretensioner can vent onto the carpet and start a fire inside the cabin. Two recalls involve occupant restraints beyond the pretensioner fire risk. The front passenger airbag module on Crew Cab models may have been damaged during assembly and can fail to inflate properly in a crash. Separately, the seatbelt bracket at the front-row center seating position may not be properly secured to the seat frame, meaning the belt may not hold an occupant in a collision. On the braking side, a software error in the brake control module can silently disable both anti-lock brakes and electronic stability control, leaving the driver without those systems and unaware of the loss. There is also a tire compatibility issue on vehicles equipped with certain accessory wheels: the 17-inch spare tire provided with those vehicles is not compatible with the accessory wheels and can cause the anti-lock brake system to malfunction when the spare is in use.
