The 2017 Chevrolet Tahoe has 4 recalls, the most serious involving the braking and four-wheel-drive systems: a faulty sensor can trigger unintended braking on one wheel, pulling the vehicle sideways, and a separate transfer case fault can lock the front or rear wheels without warning.
Both of these affect four-wheel-drive models only. On the brake assist side, the vacuum pump that powers the brake booster can weaken over time, requiring more pedal force to stop and extending stopping distances. There is also a safety equipment concern: the front airbags and seatbelt pretensioners may fail to deploy in a crash, leaving the driver and front passenger without full restraint protection.
