The 2019 Chevrolet Traverse has 3 recalls, the most serious involving the automatic transmission's start-stop accumulator, where missing bolts can cause a transmission fluid leak that progresses to a complete loss of drive power.
Two separate airbag concerns make up the remaining recalls. On certain vehicles, the airbag control module may have been left in a manufacturing test mode, which prevents the airbags from deploying in a crash, leaving occupants without that protection when they need it most. On the restraint hardware side, the side curtain airbags on some vehicles may not be properly secured to their mounting points, meaning they can fail to inflate correctly and may not cover the side windows as intended during a rollover or side-impact collision.
