The 2021 Chevrolet Traverse has 3 recalls, the most serious affecting wheelchair-accessible models with a Power In-floor Ramp conversion, where a plastic shroud inside the wheel well can rub against the transmission case and cause a fluid leak that may cut drive power or start a fire.
Two additional recalls involve the airbag system. On vehicles that received incorrect airbag calibration software during a dealer service visit, the frontal airbags may not deploy as intended in a crash, leaving occupants without that layer of protection. Separately, a wiring connector issue in the roof rail curtain airbag circuit can also prevent those bags from inflating during a side impact, again reducing crash protection for occupants along the sides of the cabin.
