Looking at these recalls, Recalls 1 and 4 describe the same brake tube/EGR contact defect (two filings, one problem), and Recalls 3 and 6 describe the same Takata-style airbag inflator rupture issue for driver and passenger sides respectively.
The 2006 Dodge Charger has 6 recalls, the most serious involving airbag inflators on both the driver and passenger sides that can rupture in a crash and send metal fragments into the cabin.
On 2.7-liter models, the brake lines run too close to the exhaust gas recirculation tube, and contact between the two can wear through the brake lines over time, causing a fluid leak that reduces stopping power and can start an engine compartment fire. Two separate transmission recalls also affect this vehicle: the automatic transmission's park pawl anchor shaft can shift out of position, preventing the transmission from fully engaging park, and if the parking brake is not set the car can roll away without warning. Separately, the gearshift cable can slip off its mounting bracket at the steering column, causing the gear position display to show the wrong selection and allowing the vehicle to move unexpectedly.
