The 2008 Dodge Charger has 5 recalls, the most serious being Takata airbag inflators on both the driver and passenger sides that can rupture in a crash and send metal fragments into the cabin, risking serious injury or death.
The remaining recalls cover two other significant concerns. The rear axle hub nuts on certain vehicles can loosen over time and allow the halfshaft to pull free from the wheel hub, causing sudden loss of drive power while moving. There is also an ignition switch issue where the switch can rest between the "Start" and "On" positions, cutting power to certain electrical systems while the vehicle is in use.
