Two separate drivetrain and steering concerns top the list. The shifter assembly can fail to hold the drive position securely, causing the vehicle to suddenly lose forward power while moving. The steering rack bar can bind inside the steering gear, making the wheel stiff and difficult to turn or, in worse cases, causing a complete loss of steering response.
On the electronics and stability side, a software fault in the anti-lock brake control module can quietly disable the electronic stability control system, which is the system that helps the vehicle recover during skids and sharp maneuvers. A related software issue in the same module can cause the stability control warning light to fail to illuminate when that system develops a problem, leaving the driver unaware that the assist is not working. Prior software repairs did not fully resolve both aspects of this issue.
The rearview camera software can also fail in a way that prevents the backup image from appearing on the screen at all when the vehicle is shifted into reverse, reducing the driver's view of what is directly behind the vehicle.
The remaining recall involves the rear spoiler, which can be misaligned with the roofline and sustain damage each time the liftgate is opened. Over time, that damage can cause the spoiler to detach and fall onto the road.
