The 2021 Dodge Durango has 9 recalls, the most serious involving two separate driving hazards: a sticking EGR valve that can cause a sudden loss of drive power, and a steering rack that can bind and make the vehicle difficult or impossible to steer.
On the safety equipment side, a side curtain airbag fastener may be loose or missing, which can cause the bag to deploy incorrectly in a crash. Three recalls address the rear spoiler, which can contact the body when the liftgate opens or closes, potentially detaching and becoming a road hazard for other drivers. The rearview camera software on certain vehicles may fail to display an image when reversing, reducing visibility behind the car. There is also a concern with the electronic stability control system, where a software issue in the ABS control module can prevent the warning light from coming on when stability control is not functioning properly, leaving the driver unaware of the problem.
