The 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan has 6 recalls, the most serious involving the driver's airbag, which can launch the steering wheel emblem or its mounting hardware as projectiles into the cabin during a crash.
A separate ignition concern affects the same occupant protection systems. The wireless ignition node can allow the key to slip from the run position into accessory while driving, shutting the engine off and disabling the airbags, power steering, and other safety systems that depend on the ignition being active. Chrysler advised owners to remove everything from the key ring except the ignition key until the repair is completed.
On the electrical side, the vent window switch in the driver's door armrest can overheat and start a vehicle fire. This affects Grand Caravans produced from late 2010 through 2013, so not all 2010 model year vehicles fall within the affected production window.
Two recalls apply only to modified versions of this vehicle. Certain wheelchair-accessible Grand Caravans converted by The Liberty Motor Company have a rear axle that can fail, raising the risk of a crash. Separately, vans equipped with QRT-Deluxe or QRT-Max wheelchair restraint systems installed by Rollx Vans have a securement latch that may not hold a wheelchair in place during transit, allowing it to shift and potentially injure the occupant or others in the vehicle.
