Ducati Xdiavel Recalls

The Ducati XDiavel has 10 recalls covering 2016-2020 model years, with the most serious being a side stand bracket that can fail on 2018-2020 models, causing the stand to drop open while riding and cutting engine power without warning, raising the risk of a crash.

The side stand is a recurring concern across the full production run. On 2018 models, a retaining pin for the side stand spring can break, again allowing the stand to fall open and stall the engine while riding. On 2016-2018 models, the stand bracket can fatigue under load and cause the motorcycle to fall while parked, posing a risk to anyone nearby. On 2016-2017 models, a loose side stand plate fastening screw can cause the stand to fail, either dropping the bike while parked or stalling the engine while riding.

The rear brake system has a separate issue spanning 2016-2020 models, where air can seep into the hydraulic lines over time, reducing braking effectiveness and extending stopping distances.

On 2016-2017 models, the final drive pulley retaining nut can work loose, allowing the countershaft to spin free of the belt drive and cutting power to the rear wheel mid-ride. The 2016 model year has two additional issues: a passenger backrest that can crack and break if improperly installed or used, causing a passenger to lose back support suddenly, and a side stand that can break while parked and drop the motorcycle onto bystanders.
