The 2018 Ducati XDiavel has 4 recalls, the most serious being a side stand that can drop or swing open while the motorcycle is moving, cutting engine power unexpectedly and raising the risk of a crash.
The side stand issue stems from two related structural problems: a retaining pin that can break and a stand bracket that can fail, either of which allows the stand to open during a ride. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the issue, which is why multiple filings address the same core hazard. A separate but related concern involves the stand bracket fatiguing under load while the motorcycle is parked, which can cause the bike to topple over and injure anyone standing nearby. On the braking side, air can work its way into the rear hydraulic brake system over time, softening the rear brake pedal feel and lengthening the distance needed to bring the motorcycle to a stop.
