The 2012 Fisker Karma has 6 recalls, the most serious being a defective passenger-side airbag inflator that can rupture and send metal fragments into the cabin, posing a risk of serious injury or death.
Two separate recalls cover a fire risk tied to the low-temperature cooling fan, which can develop an electrical short that ignites the fan housing and surrounding components. There is also a fire risk from the high-voltage battery pack: coolant hoses in the battery compartment may have been assembled with incorrectly positioned clamps, allowing the battery cover to press against the clamps and cause a coolant leak. If coolant reaches the battery compartment, it can trigger an electrical short and a fire.
