1989 FORD AEROSTAR Recalls — Canada & USA

The 1989 Ford Aerostar has two recalls of equal severity, one affecting occupant safety and one affecting rollaway risk. On vehicles equipped with quad captain's chairs, the latch holding the second-row right-hand seat can release in a hard frontal crash, allowing the seat to pitch forward and injure the occupant. On the drivetrain side, the automatic transmission's park mechanism may fail to engage when the selector is moved to Park, leaving the vehicle free to roll on any incline if the parking brake is not set.
