On the fuel side, certain vehicles originally sold or registered in warm-climate states have a fuel tank issue that can allow fuel to leak, creating a fire risk if an ignition source is nearby. There are also two chassis and occupant safety concerns: a corroded spare tire winch cable can snap while driving and drop the spare tire onto the road, and the second-row right-hand seat has a latch that can release in a hard frontal collision, letting the seat pitch forward and raising the risk of injury to whoever is sitting there.
