1996 FORD CROWN VICTORIA Recalls — Canada & USA

The 1996 Ford Crown Victoria has two recalls, the more serious affecting natural gas models: an interior fire can damage the fiberglass wrap on the rear-mounted natural gas tank, weakening the tank's structural integrity and raising the risk of a more serious fuel system failure. The second recall is limited to Police Interceptor models with the 4.6L two-valve engine. A silicone gel residue inside the mass airflow sensor can attract dust and dirt over time, altering how the sensor reads incoming air and causing the engine to detonate or knock under load.
