The 2014 Ford E-150 has 4 recalls, the most serious affecting CNG-converted vehicles where the brackets holding a rear compressed natural gas cylinder can fail, letting the cylinder break free and leak fuel with a risk of fire.
The remaining three recalls all involve wheelchair lift equipment on modified vans. Two of them concern the same Ricon S-Series lift platform: side plates on the lift platform can crack and cause the platform to separate from the lift, and separately, bearings can shift out of position and cause the stowed platform to move excessively until the mounting fails. A third wheelchair lift recall covers a positioning cam that can fail while the lift is in use, allowing the platform to rise above the vehicle floor height and tip a wheelchair user inward as they exit.
