The 2012 Ford E-150 has 3 recalls, the most serious affecting CNG-converted vehicles where a rear cylinder bracket can fail, allowing the compressed natural gas cylinder to break free and create a fuel leak and fire risk.
The remaining two recalls both involve Ricon wheelchair lifts installed on mobility-modified vans. In one, the lift platform's side plates can crack and cause the platform to separate and fall against the vehicle's lift door. In the other, bearings in the lift mechanism can shift out of position, causing the stowed platform to move excessively and the mounting to fail. Both issues affect the safe operation of the lift for wheelchair users.
