The 2022 Ford Edge has 5 recalls, the most serious involving intake valves that can break while driving on models equipped with the 2.7L or 3.0L EcoBoost engine, causing sudden engine failure and loss of drive power.
The remaining four recalls all concern the rearview camera failing to show a usable image when reversing. A software error can cause the camera to display a blank or distorted image, and a separate issue with the infotainment module overheating can shut the system down entirely, leaving the screen dark when backing up. One of these recalls specifically covers vehicles where an earlier repair attempt did not fully resolve the blank or distorted image problem. A fourth filing addresses a related issue where the camera image can freeze or go missing entirely rather than updating in real time. In each case, the driver loses the rear view the camera is meant to provide, reducing awareness of obstacles, pedestrians, or other vehicles behind the Edge while reversing.
