The 2015 Ford Expedition has 5 recalls, the most serious being a front blower motor that can catch fire inside the passenger cabin while the vehicle is running or in accessory mode.
The blower motor, located behind the glove box on the passenger side, is the subject of two related filings that together cover the same fire risk: the motor can fail in a way that ignites surrounding components, creating a fire inside the vehicle interior. Prior repair attempts did not fully resolve the issue, which is why this defect appears across more than one recall campaign.
The remaining recalls all involve the rearview camera failing to show a usable image when the transmission is shifted into reverse. In one case, internal connection problems inside the camera can cause the image to display incorrectly or not at all. In another, a loose or damaged connector on the camera's circuit board can produce a blank or distorted picture. A third filing covers similar image failures, including inverted or scrambled video, traced to related internal camera faults. In all three situations, the driver backing up may have little or no accurate view of what is directly behind the vehicle, raising the risk of a collision with another vehicle, object, or person.
