The 2020 Ford Explorer Police Intercept has 2 recalls, the most serious being a rear axle mounting bolt that can fracture and allow the driveshaft to disconnect, leaving the vehicle able to roll away when parked without the parking brake applied.
The second recall involves the windshield washer system, where the washer fluid was contaminated with brake fluid during production. Brake fluid degrades rubber components in the washer system and reduces the system's ability to clean the windshield, which can limit the driver's forward visibility in dirty or wet conditions.
