The 1999 Ford F-150 has 6 recalls, the most serious involving fuel system fire risks: a damaged o-ring on the fuel pressure regulator can leak fuel or vapor near ignition sources, and corroded fuel tank mounting straps can fail and allow the tank to drop and fuel lines to separate.
A speed control cable that may not have fully seated in the accelerator bracket can pull free, preventing the throttle from returning to idle and extending stopping distances. Three recalls involve incorrect information on the vehicle certification label, affecting certain 4x4 Off Road and High Front GAWR trims, 4x2 Sport package trucks, and models equipped with a heavy duty service package. On the 4x4 and 4x2 Sport variants, the label lists the wrong tire and rim specifications, which could lead to underrated tires being fitted and, in serious cases, a tire blowout. On heavy duty service package trucks, a typo on the label gives the wrong tire pressure, which if followed would result in a noticeably harsher ride.
