The 2025 Ford F-250 SD has 6 recalls, the most serious being a brake system defect where a missing retaining spring can allow the brake pedal to disconnect from the booster, causing a sudden and complete loss of braking.
Two other recalls carry equal severity. The steering column shifter may have been improperly welded and can detach, leaving the driver unable to shift into park and creating a rollaway risk. On the fuel side, cracked fuel return line connectors can leak diesel into the engine compartment, where hot components can ignite it. There is also a driveshaft concern: a failed friction weld can cause the rear driveshaft to separate, cutting drive power without warning. On the electrical side, the instrument cluster can fail at startup and leave the driver without speed readings or warning lights. A trailer lighting recall rounds out the list, covering vehicles equipped to tow: trailer lights and brakes may not function, reducing the trailer's visibility to other drivers and the driver's ability to control it.
